It all started with the desire to accommodate our visiting family and friends comfortably. We thought it would be a good idea to buy a bigger house. We did not have to look far for a realtor because for several years we had been receiving offers in the mail that if we were ever in the market to buy or sell a house to remember Ana Thigpen. Year after year I would see Ana’s friendly face and thought that if she was so persistent in reminding us of her availability, and if she showed the same tenacity and persistence in closing a real estate deal then she would be a winner. And, she was! I had never met Ana before, but there was no question on who we were going to use as our realtor. We met and told her what we wanted. She listened and listened until she created a profile that satisfied our needs. The house was in a hill overlooking the mountains; the size was perfect with an acre of land and plenty of potential. The timing was right: the house had just been put back in the market after the last buyer fell out of escrow. We believed that was the first sign that this was the house for us. Looking back, I cannot help but wonder if the other buyer had an experienced realtor like Ana, they may not have to bail out. Ours was not an easy process. Six months of grueling negotiations and numerous hesitations on our part, but with the support of Ana and her team, we are happy to report that we closed escrow on December 16 2014. It is exciting to put our personal touches on our new house. To sum our experience, we learn that short sales sometimes are not short, and the process can be difficult to negotiate. But, it is much easier if you have an experienced realtor like Ana. Ana will always have my respect and admiration because in facing adversity and throughout the process she maintained her professionalism.
